Good place, burgers are really not bad, not many varieties of souces though.

Since Portillo sold his Restaurants, the prices have gone up and the portions have gotten noticeably smaller. The chocolate cake is half as big as it was and the Italian beef sandwich is no longer overflowing with beef. It now barely fills the bun. Service has slowed. My last visit ordering 2 Italian beef sandwiches and 1 fry with 2 drinks took almost 15 minutes to be delivered at the counter indoors. I have reduced our visits to less than once per month, when previously it was a couple of times per month. With too many customers to handle, I really don't think they care. It is only when business drops off, that they will take notice.

Always liked this cafe, cozy interior, unobtrusive service, but last time the cafe was very upset. Came with a child to have lunch, ordered two salads and pizza, when they brought salads, started eating, I first, found hair in the salad, almost vomited it out, took it back to the bar, explaining what happened, the staff with a disgruntled face took away a plate, came back, the child went to his salad, and here, too, white hair in the salad, I had to return too, money paid only for a drink that they took. Desire to visit this institution no more. Unfortunately.

The quality has been getting worse over the last year. The drive thru used to be amazing! I wouldn’t think twice to pull up even if 15-20 cars in line. Now, I just keep driving to another place because it will take FOREVER! It’s funny because they have someone outside taking the order and my money but unlike (my beloved portillos of old) they have nobody running the food to cars cued in line so15-20 mins later I get a lovely COLD soggy beef sandwich and lacking any actual beef. What happened to you? Everyone I talk to has had similar experience. Guess their feeding off the reputation and good work of the last 50yrs. Too bad and shame on you.

I ordered some chicken fingers with ranch and extra ranch, garden salad with ranch and extra ranch, beef and sausage combo with peppers, and gravy on the side at approximately 4:10 pm. See attached photo. I was told my order would be delivered approximately 4:30 pm. At 4:45 I called and spoke with store manager Patrick, who said order was waiting for Dordash driver, no time of delivery given at all. I called guest services about 5:10-15 pm and she said my order was picked up, and gave me the drivers phone number. I then called the driver, and he said he was waiting for the order to be filled. Finally at 5:35 pm my order was delivered. I suggest anyone who is ordering from this Oak Lawn store, think twice.

Whenever I'm in town in Chicago, this is my go-to spot. Great variety (chili-cheese hotdogs are stupid good), atmosphere, and the food is consistently delicious. If I'm going big, I'm going Portillos lol.

Now I've made hundreds of orders from this platform, his contact was really fast. And you can use this fantastic and outstanding service as well.

There's nothing like getting a sweet and spicy beef while walking along Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Unfortunately, 2020 has kept me from going back home and I have missed those beefs. The closest thing to home now is Portillo's down in Peoria! I love love love this place!

I know a lot of people like to eat at Portillo's as the parking lot is always full no matter what time of day it is. So we decided to try it. The parking lot was full and when we arrived, there were tons of people standing around waiting for food and nearly every table taken. I was worried we might be there a while, but was hopeful. You order at one counter, then walk down to another to pick up your food. As you walk down the 'hall' or 'tunnel' as they call it, you can see all the food being made from a mass assembly line of workers. My first thought was that this shouldn't take long. There was plenty of staff busy putting together orders. Once we arrived at the pick up area, we realized this was going to be a long wait. There were lots of people waiting for their food. Up until this point, we had not heard anyone over a loud speaker, maybe a lag in getting orders out, I don't know. Suddenly someone got on a loud speaker and began to call out orders in a very loud speaker system and in a very annoying way. They would call the number and follow with a saying "169 Your time to dine" "178 no more wait" "193 come see me". It was funny the first few times, but then became so annoying it almost makes you want to just leave. My boyfriend said "this is crazy". We waited for what seemed like eternity for our food. At one point there were so many people waiting on food the woman on the loud speaker starting yelling at everyone to clear the 'tunnel'. There was NO place for these people to go! We were already standing on top of each other in front of the counter and half way to the door!

Once we finally got our food, we couldn't find a place to sit. We had to stand around waiting for someone to leave. We finally got a table and now our food was cold. We had burgers, they were good considering they were cold from the long wait and trying to find a place to sit. I think it would have been a great experience had it not been for the very LOUD annoying staff yelling out when the orders were up. We couldn't even speak to each other while eating without yelling across the table at each other. My boyfriend was not impressed and I wasn't either. The biggest problem was the fact that people were getting very annoyed at the long wait, and then almost angry feeling after listening to the annoying loud speaker. We weren't the only ones who were not happy. We heard several people say the same things we were thinking..."this is crazy"..."Never again"..."if she says that one more time...". I think if we were really wanting one of their burgers, we'd go threw the drive up, but even that was wrapped around the building. I can't figure out the attraction to this place for it to be packed all the time, but they are. We always like to give a place a second chance, but I think in this case, we'll pass. On a positive note... IF you like that kind of craziness and want a unique experience and I presume good food if you can get it hot, then by all means try it... at least once.
